notes from the mountain side
It’s a hard life. I have been lucky enough to spend a week hidden away in a cabin in a valley in Ardeche. No electricity, no net. Just the sound of wild boars and crickets in the sun. I have written 3 new songs, painted some panels for the album cover, eaten like a king, swam in canyon pools at 7 in the morning and played open air shows on mountain sides. It’s hard to take. Thanks to all the people involved for inviting me and making me so welcome.
I am back to dublin for a few days after the final show here tomorrow night to sort out the artwork and bits and pieces before heading off to Canada to play a show.
How am i so fuckin lucky?

Sounds like a pretty nice spot to take a vacation. It would be nice to disconnect from the world for a week.

I was there at your gig in Saint-Mélany, Ardèche at Sentier des Lauzes. After the gig in France, we said to each other; he’s a good singer but all his songs are more or less the same. After listening several times to the cd, I must say: our conclusion on the mountainside was wrong! Although it’s not my favourite kind of music, I do love the songs on your cd. And we all enjoyed your happy song, donwthere in France.
I’ve made some pictures at the ging? Interested?
